"Supervision is a cornerstone of Counselling Psychology training and practice and a requirement of every practitioner, however senior, throughout their working life. Counselling Psychologists conceptualise supervision as a valued and protected time, and a relationship within which the practitioner may review more objectively their own work with the help of another professional for the purpose of upholding good practice, professional development and personal support." (Division of Counselling Psychology, BPS, Guidelines for Supervision)
I work according to the above principles and recognise the importance of clinical supervision for all mental health practitioners. I am able to offer a space to discuss client cases, add an additional perspective and ensure the well-being of the therapist/practitioner. I am experienced in providing clinical supervision to trainee psychologists and other professionals. I tend to work relationally, using mapping to help explore cases with the supervisee. I therefore prefer to supervise face to face.
